10 Amazing crochet patterns for beginners

Once you have learned a few basic stitches many of us are eager to get going and start crocheting some projects, once you start and begin to gain more confidence you won't want to stop.

This is a round up of some beginner crochet patterns, that are great for practicing those crochet stitches.

Then once you have a few of the basic stitches mastered this range of patterns are perfect practice pieces that can be made up into blankets, pillows, scarves, shawls, bags and much much more.


Project 1 - Simple Square Motif

In project 1 you will get the opportunity to practice reading patterns, holding the hook and yarn, creating a slipknot, doing a yarn over, chain stitch, double crochet and a slip stitch, work in rows, turn the corner, increase, finish/fasten off and weave ends.



Project 2 - All Square Motif

In project 2 you will get the opportunity to practice reading patterns, holding the hook and yarn, creating a slipknot, doing a yarn over, chain stitch and treble crochet, work in rounds, work in a chain space, change colour, finish/fasten off and weave ends.



Project 3 - Round Square Motif
In project 3 you will get the opportunity to practice reading patterns, holding the hook and yarn, creating a slipknot, doing a yarn over, chain stitch, double crochet, half treble crochet, treble crochet and a slip stitch, work in rounds, work in a chain space, increase, change colour, finish/fasten off and weave ends.



Project 4 - Patchwork Motif
In project 4 you will get the opportunity to practice reading patterns, holding the hook and yarn, creating a slipknot, doing a yarn over, chain stitch and half treble crochet, work in rows, finish/fasten off and weave ends & sew together.



Project 5 - African Flower Motif
In project 5 you will get the opportunity to practice reading patterns, holding the hook and yarn, creating a slipknot, doing a yarn over, chain stitch, double crochet, half treble crochet, treble crochet, double treble crochet and a slip stitch, work in rounds, work in a chain space, change colour, finish/fasten off and weave ends.



Project 6 - Heart Motif

Project 7 - Traditional Granny Motif
In project 7 you will get the opportunity to practice reading patterns, holding the hook and yarn, creating a slipknot, doing a yarn over, chain stitch, treble crochet, and a slip stitch, work in rounds, work in a chain space, change colour, increase, finish/fasten off and weave ends.



Project 8 - Granny Flower Motif
In project 8 you will get the opportunity to practice reading patterns, holding the hook and yarn, creating a slipknot, doing a yarn over, chain stitch, treble crochet and a slip stitch, work in rounds, work in a chain space, change colour, increase, finish/fasten off and weave ends.



Project 9 - Ripple Motif
In project 9 you will get the opportunity to practice reading patterns, holding the hook and yarn, creating a slipknot, doing a yarn over, chain stitch, double crochet, half treble crochet and a treble crochet, work in rows, change colour, increase, finish/fasten off and weave ends.



Project 10 - Chain Flower Motif
In project 10 you will get the opportunity to practice reading patterns, holding the hook and yarn, creating a slipknot, doing a yarn over, chain stitch, double crochet, half treble crochet, treble crochet, and a slip stitch, work in rounds, work in a chain space, change colour, increase, finish/fasten off and weave ends.
