My Prices

I try to set my prices as fairly as possible, settling on a price is extremely hard and there are a lot of factors to take into consideration:

Idea: It all starts with an idea, doing research looking a what colours textures will work out best.

Design: This part takes a lot of work, working and reworking the stitches until settling on the look you want, counting and recounting, you need to consider how long this design process took, how unique the pattern is,

Pattern: Writing the pattern is another tricky part, keeping everything in a uniformed terminology, and converting from UK to US terms.

Testing: Thoroughly testing and retesting, double checking all the numbers and that the pattern wordings all make sense.

Yarn Cost: A little simpler to determine but this can all mount up, I often start with a prototype, with odd colours of wool, then work up the pattern again once I’m happy with the design, then there is testing and retesting, I might also work up the design in a few different colours.

Photography: This is another time consuming part of the process, setting up the shot and then downloading them to the computer.

Finalising the pattern: Adding the photos, triple checking and converting to PDF.

Selling Fees: The marketplaces that we use to sell and the companies we use to process the payment all charge a percentage fee which come out of the purchase price.

Uploading the pattern: Another time consuming part of the process, creating the listing, what’s included, what materials are required, what skills, sizes, and pre-empting any questions that might arise.

Setting the Price: What similar items are selling and prices? Considering all of the above then settling on a fair price.

Marketing: After all of the above it doesn’t finish there, there's all the marketing that follows afterwards, getting the pattern found and building a social media profile, getting found, and setting meaningful keywords.

Hidden costs: such as running a website, camera, computer.

My end goal is to cover my costs and to make a small profit to keep my designs growing, so please help in any way you can, if your not wanting to buy then you can show your support by sharing my posts on social media and giving my designs some likes, this will help my designs to be seen by more people.

Thank you so much for all your support.
